In episode 69 of his video series, Dr. Larson discusses:
So many things in the body need to work together perfectly for reproduction to happen, it truly is miraculous. In a recent study released in Human Reproduction, researchers evaluated 55000 women internationally to determine the influence that diet has on a woman’s fertility, or ability to have a baby. What they found was that those women who ate fast food more than four times per week had a significant decrease in fertility compared to those who did not.

That begs the question “What is it about the fast served in fast food chains that alters the body so significantly that human reproduction is reduced?” There is something about the foods that are served in fast food chains that change the body so much that it influences fertility and human reproduction.
Fast food is dramatically different from what you buy in the grocery store. Likely to blame is the high sugar and refined carbohydrate content. The fact that fast food is completely devoid of fruits and vegetables is probably a contributing factor.
Also, the meat that is used in fast food establishments contains a bad source of fat from unhealthy “meat” and usually is not “real” meat at all. When chains make announcements like “now using 100% Angus beef”, you have to wonder what was used before. The meat that you get with fast food chains is usually a blended modification of real animal meat.
Diet is such a huge factor in the body’s ability to function optimally, that when you eat unhealthy foods, it affects the brain, which is the regulator of the body. Those effects alter the glands, which are responsible for producing hormones. When hormones are thrown off, it leads to inflammation, and the entire system goes awry.
All of those changes and deregulation are responsible for a woman’s fertility chances. If you don’t eat right, then you have a less chance of getting pregnant. If you are trying to conceive, stay away from drive-thru windows.
